Coinbase has appointed Anthony Armstrong to its board of directors, expanding the board from nine to 10 members. Armstrong will also join the company’s Audit and Compliance Committee, according to the report.
Armstrong previously served as chief financial officer of xAI, X.AI Corp, and X Corp. He also spent nearly a decade at Morgan Stanley, where he was vice chairman of investment banking, and later served as a senior advisor at the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency. Coinbase said Armstrong has a strong record of executing efficiently and building systems that operate at scale. SEC filings also stated that Armstrong has no family relationship with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong.
