Cactus Custody, a digital asset custodian under Matrixport, has integrated Lido V3 stVaults into its platform, enhancing institutional Ethereum staking capabilities. This integration allows institutional clients to create and manage customized staking vaults via the Cactus Link browser extension, connecting directly to the stVaults Web UI. The integration requires smart contract whitelisting for each interaction, aligning with the compliance needs of institutional environments.
Lido V3, launched in February 2025, expanded liquid staking capabilities, with stVaults becoming operational on Ethereum's mainnet in January 2026. These vaults offer customizable staking options, allowing vault owners to select node operators and retain asset custody. Additionally, institutions can mint stETH, Lido's liquid staking token, against staked positions, maintaining liquidity for trading or collateral purposes. Cactus Custody, serving over 300 institutions globally, enhances its staking infrastructure with this integration, addressing key institutional concerns of custody and customization.
