Blockchain.com has applied to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission for Designated Contract Market and Futures Commission Merchant licenses. Approval would allow the crypto platform to offer event contracts and crypto derivatives trading directly to U.S. users, marking a significant expansion into regulated American markets.
The company currently provides prediction market access to select overseas users through Polymarket and supports perpetual contract trading via Hyperliquid. Securing these CFTC licenses would enable Blockchain.com to bring similar products to the U.S. under federal regulatory oversight.
