Bitcoin long-term holder (LTH) distribution volume dropped 22% over the past week, signaling easing selling pressure from investors holding coins for more than six months. CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr. reported that aggregate LTH 30-day distribution volume fell from 310,000 to 240,000 BTC between October 22 and October 29, driven primarily by smaller daily supply reductions in recent days.
During the same period, Bitcoin's LTH MVRV ratio declined slightly from 1.67 to 1.65, with market price trading approximately 65% above this cohort's average cost basis of $48,000. BTC currently trades near $80,000, leaving long-term holders with a substantial unrealized profit buffer despite a two-percentage-point narrowing this week.
Adler noted that a rebound in the MVRV ratio would indicate recovery of the profit buffer relative to cost basis, while further price declines pose risk of reduced LTH supply as holders may begin distributing accumulated positions.
