Argentine federal judge Marcelo Martínez de Giorgi has ordered the dismissal of the criminal investigation into President Javier Milei and his sister Karina Milei regarding their involvement in the LIBRA memecoin scandal. The probe, initiated in February 2025, examined potential fraud during the token's issuance.
Prosecutor Eduardo Taiano had previously requested the case be dropped, according to local media La Nación. The controversy stemmed from a social media post by President Milei promoting the LIBRA token, which subsequently saw its price plummet. Milei later deleted the posts and denied any connection to the cryptocurrency project.
