Apple has updated its insider trading policy in its annual SEC filing, explicitly prohibiting employees from using confidential company information to trade on prediction market platforms such as Polymarket and Kalshi. The new rules ban betting on outcomes involving Apple itself, as well as other companies, suppliers, customers, and business partners, even if such activity does not constitute traditional insider trading under applicable law.
The policy also prohibits employees from sharing confidential information with anyone who may use it for prediction market trading. The restrictions cover bets related to unreleased Apple products, including launch timing, configurations, and pricing — topics that have appeared on prediction markets in recent years.
