Anchorage Digital, the first federally chartered digital asset bank in the United States, has laid off 17% of its staff, eliminating approximately 68 positions. The reduction affects a workforce that stood at roughly 400 employees globally as of February, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The layoffs come despite Anchorage Digital achieving a $4.2 billion valuation earlier this year. The restructuring follows recent business development activity, including the addition of an institutional investor channel for Frgmnt's stablecoin fUSD.
