Anchorage Digital has announced a partnership with Grupo Salinas to enhance cross-border payments using a USD-pegged stablecoin. The collaboration will see Grupo Salinas integrate Anchorage's stablecoin infrastructure into its payment processes through its crypto division, Coinpro, aiming to streamline U.S. dollar-denominated transactions. This initiative is designed to shorten settlement cycles and provide real-time, programmable settlement while adhering to regulatory standards.
Nathan McCauley, CEO of Anchorage Digital, highlighted the evolution of stablecoins into core financial infrastructure, offering a secure, federally regulated method for global dollar transfers. Grupo Salinas, led by Bitcoin advocate Ricardo Salinas Pliego, aims to develop more efficient payment channels for its retail financial services company, Elektra. This partnership follows Western Union's recent launch of a USD-pegged stablecoin on the Solana blockchain, issued by Anchorage Digital.
