ByteDance's Doubao Phone Assistant disclosed that 155 applications have formally refused to allow its GUI agent to operate on their platforms. The blocklist includes major national apps such as WeChat, QQ, Taobao, Tmall, Meituan, and Alipay, alongside banking apps from China Merchants Bank and ICBC. Tencent-related ecosystem apps account for 66 of the refusals, while Alibaba-related apps comprise 23, with Pinduoduo, Xiaohongshu, Zhihu, DeepSeek, and telecom operators also opting out.
QuestMobile data indicates that among the top ten apps by user scale in the first half of the year, only Douyin and JD.com have not explicitly refused agent access. The refusals follow Doubao's Screen Automation Operation Declaration Protocol (SAEP), which established a 30-day public notice period starting September 14 for developers to declare opposition; non-responding apps default to allowing agent operations. The ZTE Nubia NaviX Ultra smartphone featuring Doubao Phone Assistant launched on September 16.
