Monero (XMR), the privacy coin with no supply cap, added at most 0.84% to its coin count in the year to its late-October 2026 close. That close was $598.12, and our Monero price prediction puts the base case at $555-$599 for 2026 and $622-$714 by 2030.
Every target on this page sits on a coin count that keeps rising, and the Monero chain shows how fast. The 262,513 blocks of the year to late October each minted 0.6 XMR or less, while CoinMarketCap's daily supply column stayed frozen for two years until June 2026. At the measured block rate, the same price at the end of 2030 would mean a market value about 3.5% larger.

What Is Monero (XMR)?
Monero is a mined privacy coin whose chain has run since 18 April 2014, and each XMR spend hides the real coin among 16 with a ring signature. That design puts XMR on the private side of the differences between public and privacy coins.
Where Is the Monero Price After the Late-October Close?
Monero closed late October 2026 at $598.12 on CoinMarketCap, 1.29% under the previous day's $605.94 close, which had itself risen 1.53%. CoinGecko's series put the same close at $597.94, a 1.52% fall on the day.
That left XMR 38.05% above its $433.27 close of 31 December 2025. With about 18.82 million coins in circulation, the close valued the network near $11.26 billion.
How Many Monero Are There?
About 18.82 million XMR existed at the late-October close, and that count has no ceiling. Monero has no supply cap, and every block after 9 June 2022 has carried a base reward of 0.6 XMR or less. The project's own Moneropedia entry on tail emission dates the switch to "the end of May 2022", while the chain paid its first base reward of exactly 0.6 XMR in June 2022.
In the year to late October 2026 the chain added at most 157,508 XMR, about 0.84% of the supply a year earlier. That came from 262,513 blocks in 365 days, 99.89% of the 262,800 that Monero's two-minute block target implies. It's a ceiling, because a block-size penalty can only push a reward below 0.6 XMR.
Monero's main emission curve was built to approach 18,446,744.07 XMR, the most atomic units a 64-bit number can hold. Tail emission carried the supply past that line on 7 June 2024. That took at least 524,288 tail blocks, two to the 19th power, because the tail takes over once the gap to the line falls under 0.6 XMR times that number.
CoinMarketCap's daily supply column then stayed at exactly that figure for 731 rows, from 7 June 2024 to 7 June 2026. It resumed at about 18.76 million on 8 June 2026, so the market caps that tracker printed in between counted up to 1.7% fewer coins than the chain held.
At the measured 719.21 blocks a day, simple arithmetic puts the supply at about 19.48 million XMR by 1 January 2031, 3.50% above the late-October count. That growth is the dilution side of circulating supply vs total supply and dilution risk, and no owner or contract holds XMR back for a later unlock.
Method: block headers and blocks from two public Monero nodes, with each close block found by a binary search on block timestamps, which miners set. Emission is the block count times 0.6 XMR, and the June 2024 crossing is the gap to the 64-bit line at the tail handover divided by 0.6 XMR.
Check: the base reward on both close blocks, net of fees, is exactly 0.6 XMR. CoinMarketCap's supply column is the second source, and its freeze starts on the crossing day.
What Does Monero's Price History Show?
Monero set its record close of $713.44 on 14 January 2026 on CoinMarketCap and traded as high as $798.91 that day. CoinGecko's record close for the same day is $705.59, so the record depends on the feed.
The two cycles before it topped out close together. The 2017 run peaked at a $469.20 close on 20 December 2017. The next advance climbed 14.65 times, from a $33.01 close on 12 March 2020 to $483.58 on 9 May 2021.
The lowest close of the two years to late October 2026 came on 15 November 2024 at $141.78. By the late-October close XMR stood 23.69% above the May 2021 high and 16.16% under the January record.
Monero Technical Analysis
Support
XMR's 50-day average at $555.48 was the nearest support under the late-October close, with the price 7.68% above it. The May 2021 high of $483.58 came next, and the 200-day average at $419.97 was the deepest of the three.
Resistance
The late-October high close of $622.43 was the first resistance, and it was XMR's highest close since 15 January 2026. Above it stood the $713.44 record close, with the $798.91 intraday high over that.
The Moving Averages
Monero's 50-day average crossed above the 200-day on 18 August 2026, two weeks after XMR's last close under the 200-day, $350.67 on 4 August. By the late-October close the price stood 42.42% above the 200-day.
RSI and MACD
The 14-day RSI read 56.73 at the late-October close, closer to the 50 midline than to the 70 line that marks overbought. The MACD line held above its signal line, 16.47 against 15.92, but the gap had narrowed to 0.551 from 1.453 a day earlier.
Monero Price Prediction 2026
With two months of 2026 left after the late-October close, the year's ranges stay between Monero's moving averages and its late-October high close.

Each 2026 range uses a printed level, with the bear from the 200-day average to the 50-day and the base from the 50-day to the close. The bull runs from the close to the $622.43 late-October high.
Monero's base case gets the most weight here, since momentum had cooled into the late-October close without breaking the 50-day.
Monero Price Prediction 2027
Monero's 2027 bear case is $141-$484, from the November 2024 two-year closing low to the May 2021 cycle high. The base is $483-$599, from that 2021 high to the late-October close. The bull runs $598-$714 from the close to the January 2026 record close.
Monero Price Prediction 2028
The 2028 bear case is $141-$420, from the two-year closing low to the 200-day average. The base is $419-$714, from the 200-day to the record close, and it's the widest base band on the page. The bull runs $713-$736, from the record close to 1.0307 times it, the gain from the December 2017 high close to the May 2021 high close.
That multiple rests on CoinMarketCap's closes alone and on two peaks of almost equal height. The 2022-2026 cycle hasn't finished either, so the bull top is a thin step above the record.
Monero Price Prediction 2030
Monero's 2030 base case is $622-$714, from the late-October high close to the January 2026 record close. The XMR price prediction for 2030 keeps the bear at $141-$484 and the bull at $713-$736.
With about 19.48 million coins by 1 January 2031, that base range would put Monero's market value at $12.12-$13.91 billion. The year 2029 appears only in the table below, with every year's base case and its full span from bear to bull.

Can Monero Reach $1,000?
Monero would need 1.672 times its late-October close to reach $1,000, and no range in this forecast goes past $736. That target sits 25.17% above the $798.91 intraday record, a price XMR has never touched on CoinMarketCap's series.
A $1,000 price on the 19.48 million coins the block rate implies for 2031 would value Monero at about $19.5 billion, 1.73 times its late-October market value.
What Could Drive Monero Higher or Lower?
-
FCMP++ and Carrot. The upgrade's v3 stressnet hard-forked from Monero's testnet on 5 October 2026, and its v3.1 release notes came out in late October 2026. FCMP++ is a proposed upgrade that would swap the 1-of-16 ring signature for a proof over the chain's 150 million+ outputs, and those notes set no main-network date.
-
The EU rule from July 2027. From 10 July 2027, Regulation (EU) 2024/1624 bars crypto-asset service providers from keeping accounts that allow anonymised transactions, anonymity-enhancing coins included. That's the rule our Monero price analysis on FinCEN's withdrawal covers.
-
A shrinking issuance rate. The tail pays a fixed amount per block, so its yearly rate falls as supply grows, to about 0.82% in 2030.
-
The record close overhead. Every bull range from 2028 on starts at the $713.44 record close, and a daily close above it would put the bull case in play.
What Are the Risks of Investing in Monero?
A Supply That Never Stops Growing
A flat XMR price still means a larger market value each year, because the chain keeps adding coins at up to 0.84% a year. Holding the price steady takes that much more dollar demand every year, and the current rules carry no cap to end the dilution.
An Upgrade Still on a Test Network
FCMP++ would change how every Monero spend is proved, and the v3.1 test build lacks hardware wallet support, multisig and transaction proofs. A change that size can slip or need fixes before it reaches the main network, and anyone holding XMR on a hardware wallet or in multisig needs those features working before the switch.
Drawdowns of More Than Half in Weeks
XMR fell 59.01% in 22 days, from the $713.44 record close of 14 January 2026 to a $292.44 close on 5 February, its lowest of 2026 to late October. The last day of that slide alone took 23.53% off the price, from the previous day's $382.41.
Is Monero a Good Investment?
On the record to late October 2026, Monero's supply rule is its clearest strength, with no owner or unlock schedule able to change what a block pays. Its genesis block paid 17.59 XMR, the emission formula's first reward, with no separate allocation.
Its weak point is timing. FCMP++ still runs only on a test network, and its notes give no date for the main one. If you're weighing a long hold, two levels matter more than any target. One is the 50-day average, $555.48 at the late-October close, and the other is the $713.44 record close above it.
How to Get Exposure to Monero
-
You can hold XMR directly in Monero's official wallets, and mining a block pays its finder 0.6 XMR or less plus the fees inside it.
-
Both Monero perpetuals on Phemex are delisted, XMRUSD (listed in May 2021) and XMRUSDT (listed in December 2022), and there's no order-book XMR spot pair.
-
If you want the wider market, Phemex runs crypto futures with Bitcoin among them. Futures use leverage, and a leveraged position is closed automatically if losses reach its margin.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Monero price prediction for 2026?
Monero's 2026 base case is $555-$599, between its 50-day average and its late-October 2026 close of $598.12 on CoinMarketCap. Its bear range runs $419-$556 and its bull range $598-$623.
What is the Monero price prediction for 2030?
The 2030 base case is $622-$714, from Monero's late-October 2026 high close to its January 2026 record close on CoinMarketCap. The bull range of $713-$736 tops out at the record close times the gain between Monero's 2017 and 2021 peaks.
Is Monero bullish or bearish?
The trend was up at the late-October 2026 close, with the 50-day above the 200-day since 18 August and the price 42.42% over the 200-day. Momentum had cooled, as the MACD's lead over its signal line shrank.
What is Monero's key support?
Monero's first support under its late-October 2026 close was the 50-day average at $555.48. The May 2021 high of $483.58 and the 200-day at $419.97 lay below it, and the $141.78 two-year closing low is the floor of every bear range from 2027.
How high can Monero go?
This forecast tops out at $736, the bull ceiling for 2028 to 2030. Monero's highest price on CoinMarketCap's series is $798.91, printed intraday on 14 January 2026, and $1,000 would take 5.76% growth a year to the start of 2036.
Is Monero dead?
No. Monero's chain produced 262,513 blocks in the year to its late-October 2026 close, 99.89% of its two-minute target. Its developers put the FCMP++ upgrade on a public test network in October 2026.
Bottom Line
Monero's uncapped supply is the most misread part of its case. Its tail reward has held since June 2022 and answers to no owner, and it adds a smaller share of the supply every year.
If you hold XMR, that growth trims your share of the network by up to 0.84% a year. It also hands the market up to 157,508 new coins a year to absorb, about $94.21 million at the late-October price, and each range on this page assumes buyers keep taking them.
