Curve DAO (CRV) closed mid-October 2026 at $0.3670, 70.76% below its December 2024 high close. Our Curve DAO price prediction puts the base case at $0.26-$0.44 for 2026 and $0.32-$1.26 by 2030. A full recovery to that 2024 high is the top of the 2030 base case and lies outside every 2026 range.
Of the 2.428 billion CRV minted by mid-October 2026, 34.66% is held in vote-escrow locks that can't be withdrawn early. Half of that locked pile belongs to a single address, on a lock that ends in October 2030 unless its holder extends it. Emissions add about 97 million CRV a year, so holding the mid-October price to the start of 2031 takes 12.55% more market value.

What Is Curve DAO?
Curve is a decentralized exchange protocol that swaps like-priced assets such as stablecoins through liquidity pools built for efficient trading with low slippage. CRV is its governance token, which holders lock as vote-escrowed CRV (veCRV) to steer emissions and earn a share of Curve's revenue.
CRV Price History
CRV went live in August 2020, and its highest close on record is still CoinMarketCap's first daily close for it, $11.61 in that launch week. Its 2021-22 cycle peak came in early January 2022 at $6.504, and by early August 2024 CRV had fallen to $0.2096, 96.78% under that January close.
The rebound from there gained 498.9% in four months. CRV closed early December 2024 at $1.255, and the next day it printed an intraday high of $1.327, the top of that cycle on CoinMarketCap.
From the December 2024 high close CRV slid 85.52% to $0.1818 in early June 2026, the lowest close in its CoinMarketCap history. A day later it touched an intraday low of $0.1714.
It has climbed back since. CRV more than doubled to $0.3935 by late September 2026, dipped to a $0.3302 close in mid-October and recovered to $0.3670 five days later. That close was 3.80% above the previous day's and 2.29% above the last close of 2025, with Curve's own news site carrying no post that explains the jump.
Who Holds the Locked CRV?
Curve's vote-escrow contract held 841.4 million CRV in mid-October 2026, 34.66% of the 2.428 billion ever minted, and none of it can be withdrawn before its lock ends.
Locks run from one week to four years, and a longer lock earns more voting weight under Curve's version of the veToken model of decentralized governance. Holders who want a say over emissions have every reason to lock for the full term.
In mid-October 2026 the largest locker was the voter proxy of Convex Finance, an address the protocol names on its contract addresses page, with 424.9 million CRV. That was 17.50% of all minted CRV and 50.50% of everything locked.
Its lock ends in October 2030, close to the four-year maximum the contract allows. Each extension by the holder moves that date later. A second, unlabelled address held another 119.2 million CRV with the same end date. Together the two held 22.41% of all minted CRV. Both end dates fall inside the last year this forecast covers.
Locked CRV can't be sold, so the float the market actually prices is the CRV outside the locks, about 1.586 billion or 65.34% of everything minted.
Method: CRV's minted total and emission rate come from the token contract at one Ethereum block in mid-October 2026. The locked total and each locker's balance come from the vote-escrow contract at the same block. A simulated withdrawal from each of the two lockers reverted with the message "The lock didn't expire", and the contract gives its admin no function that releases a lock.
Check: CoinMarketCap's circulating count for the mid-October close, 1.579 billion CRV, comes within 0.49% of minted minus locked.
Is Curve DAO Dead?
Curve DAO's contracts were still running at the mid-October close, paying about 3.08 CRV a second to liquidity providers. Holders of veCRV still vote each week on which pools receive that flow.
The August 2026 emission cut arrived on schedule. Curve's post on the epoch 6 cut calls the reduction fully permissionless, with no multisig or administrator behind it. When epoch 6 began in mid-August 2026, yearly emissions fell under 100 million CRV for the first time.
Protocols still compete for veCRV votes because those votes send emissions to their pools, the contest known as the Curve Wars. That fight only makes sense while the emissions carry value.
Those votes run through a decentralized autonomous organization whose voters are the lockers themselves, so the lock holders above also steer Curve. Development kept shipping as well, and in mid-September 2026 Curve went live on Arc, Circle's new Layer 1 for stablecoin finance.
The price tells a harsher story. CoinMarketCap's circulating count values CRV at $579.4 million on the mid-October close, 37.03% of the $1.565 billion it reached on the December 2024 high close.
CRV Technical Analysis
CRV's 200-day average stood at $0.2608 on the mid-October close, and the price was 40.71% above it. The 50-day average crossed above the 200-day in late August 2026, a golden cross on CoinMarketCap's daily closes. By the mid-October close the 50-day stood at $0.3558, and the price was 3.14% above it.
The 14-day RSI read 53.68 on the mid-October close, the middle of its range. The MACD line had stayed below its signal line from early October 2026 to that close. The push that lifted CRV into late September had faded, and one green day didn't reverse it.
Below the price, the levels you'd watch are the 50-day at $0.3558, the $0.3302 close of mid-October and the 200-day at $0.2608. Above it are the late-September close of $0.3935 and the January 2026 high close of $0.4376, which caps this forecast's 2026 base case.
How Fast Is CRV's Supply Growing?
Curve's emission contract released 3.081 CRV a second in mid-October 2026, which works out to 97.16 million CRV a year, or 4.0% of the 2.428 billion minted.
That rate belongs to epoch 6, which runs to August 2027, when the hardcoded schedule divides it by the fourth root of two. The next cut lowers yearly emissions to about 81.70 million CRV, 15.9% below the epoch 6 rate, and each August after that brings the same step down.
The schedule's own supply count, 2.438 billion CRV in mid-October 2026 and a touch above the minted total, grows to 2.744 billion by 1 January 2031. That's 12.55% more, against a maximum of about 3.03 billion CRV in Curve's docs.
The same market value spread across the 2031 supply would price CRV at about $0.326, and that is where this forecast's 2030 base case begins.
No team or investor tranche is waiting either. Curve's CRV token docs state that "all unlocks have already occurred" and that the final unlock, team vesting, finished in August 2024. Emissions to liquidity providers are the only source of new CRV.
CRV Price Prediction 2026
CRV has 73 daily closes left in 2026 after the mid-October close, and the base case keeps it between the 200-day average and the January 2026 high close.

From the early June 2026 closing low, the bear range runs up to the 200-day, the path CRV takes if the whole rebound unwinds. The bull range stops at $0.5795, the highest close in the year to mid-October 2026, set in late October 2025.
Our weight goes on the base case. A close under $0.2608 breaks it, and a close over $0.4376 opens the bull range.
CRV Price Prediction 2027
The 2027 base case runs from $0.3670 to $0.5795, the mid-October close to the October 2025 high close. It assumes CRV keeps its 2026 rebound through a year in which the August emission cut lands.
The bear range of $0.1817-$0.3671 runs from the June 2026 low back up to the mid-October close. In this Curve DAO token price prediction, 2027 is the first year a return to the December 2024 high enters any range. It caps a bull case that runs $0.5794-$1.2554.
CRV Price Prediction 2028
CRV's 2028 base case runs from $0.4375 to $1.2554, from the January 2026 high close to the December 2024 high close. The bear range returns to 2026's $0.1817-$0.2609, and the bull range runs $1.2553-$1.3274, from the December 2024 high close to that cycle's intraday peak.
Nothing in this forecast runs above $1.3274. The launch-week close and the January 2022 peak stand at 31.64 and 17.72 times the mid-October close. Both are too far above it to serve as a range bound, so the December 2024 cycle sets the ceiling.
CRV Price Prediction 2030
The CRV price prediction 2030 base case runs from $0.3260 to $1.2554. Its floor is the mid-October close repriced for the larger supply of 2031, and its top is the December 2024 high close.
In 2029 the base case runs $0.5794-$1.2554, from the October 2025 high close to the December 2024 high close. The 2030 floor is lower than 2029's because only the 2030 floor prices in the full dilution to 2031. Both years share a bull range of $1.2553-$1.3274, and their bear ranges start at $0.1713, just under the early June 2026 intraday low.

How to Buy CRV on Phemex
CRV trades on Phemex through the CRV/USDT spot pair, which closed mid-October at $0.3680, 0.27% above CoinMarketCap's close.
-
Sign up for a Phemex account and complete identity verification.
-
Deposit USDT to your spot wallet, or buy it with a card through Phemex's Buy Crypto page.
-
Open the CRV/USDT spot pair and choose a limit order to set your price or a market order to fill at once.
-
Enter the amount of CRV, confirm the order and check the filled balance in your spot wallet.
Phemex delisted its CRVUSDT perpetual futures contract in mid-August 2026 after a notice that month. An older CRV/USD perpetual is delisted too, so CRV has no live perpetual on Phemex. Futures use leverage, and a leveraged position is closed automatically if losses reach its margin.
What Are the Risks of Holding CRV?
-
Half of all locked CRV answers to one address. The largest locker held 50.50% of the locked supply in mid-October, and locked CRV is what votes on emissions. If that lock were ever left to run out, at least 424.9 million CRV would come free in October 2030, about 4.37 years of emissions at the epoch 6 rate.
-
Emissions dilute every holder who stays idle. The schedule adds 97.16 million CRV in the year to August 2027 and about 81.70 million in the year after. If you neither lock nor provide liquidity, you own a smaller share of CRV every week.
-
Each of the last two cycle highs ended in a slide of more than 85%. The second slide reached a new all-time closing low in early June 2026, 18 months after the December 2024 high close. A rebound that fades below the 200-day would put that pattern back in play.
Frequently Asked Questions
How high can CRV go?
No range in this forecast goes above $1.3274, the intraday peak of December 2024. From the $0.3670 mid-October 2026 close, CRV would need 11.51% a year to reach $1 by 1 January 2036. Reaching $2 by then takes 20.24% a year, and neither rate is a forecast.
Will Curve DAO recover?
A return to the $1.255 December 2024 high close tops this forecast's base case from 2028 on, and the 2030 base case runs $0.32-$1.26. No 2026 range reaches that high, and CRV's mid-October 2026 close stood 70.76% below it.
Is Curve DAO a good investment?
The answer turns on supply more than the chart. In mid-October 2026 a third of minted CRV was locked, yet emissions added 4.0% of the minted total a year. Half of the locked CRV belongs to one address, and CRV's last two cycle highs each ended more than 85% lower.
What is the Curve DAO price prediction for 2030?
For 2030 the base case runs $0.3260-$1.2554, from the mid-October 2026 close repriced for the supply the schedule reaches by 2031 up to the December 2024 high close. The full 2030 range runs $0.1713-$1.3274.
Bottom Line
Curve's recovery case comes down to one address and one schedule. The largest locker's CRV stays locked past October 2030 only if that holder keeps extending its lock. The emission schedule keeps adding CRV whatever the price does. A return to $1.255 needs demand to absorb both, so this forecast keeps it at the top of the long-range base cases and out of 2026 entirely.
