Veil (VEIL) is the token of Veil, a privacy layer for Solana unrelated to Veil Cash or the 2019 Veil Project, and it rose 627% on its first full day of trading in mid-October 2026. Veil moves Solana tokens into a private balance, so you can send or trade them with no public trail back to your wallet.
That jump came with no buying from the treasury that collects Veil's fees. Veil's launch post says its 0.3% fees go to a multisig treasury, and by the mid-October close that treasury had never swapped into VEIL or burned a single token.

What Is Veil (VEIL)?
Veil calls itself a privacy layer for Solana, and its launch post put it on mainnet in early October 2026. You shield a token once from an ordinary wallet such as Phantom, and from then on it lives as encrypted notes that only your browser can open.
Inside Veil you can send privately to any Veil address or trade from your private balance, and the launch post says your wallet never appears in the trade. VEIL is the token Veil's homepage lists as its official contract, while the protocol's fees are paid in whatever token you move.
The team describes itself as ex CLI and GUI team members at Monero, the privacy coin, where it says it improved wallet sync and hardware-wallet support. Veil's site, launch post and security page name no team member, so that background is the team's own claim.
Monero hides the details of every payment on its own chain. Veil leaves Solana public and adds a private balance on top of it, so it borrows from both sides of the split between public and privacy coins.
Why Is VEIL Trending in October 2026?
VEIL launched through pump.fun in mid-October 2026, eight days after Veil's mainnet launch post. Its first full day of trading ended at $0.01587 on its main PumpSwap pool, up 627% from the launch day's close of $0.002182, after an intraday high of $0.01944.
Nothing else in its corner of the market came close that day.

Zcash stands in for privacy coins and SOL for the chain Veil runs on, and neither gained more than 5%. The spike didn't hold. By the mid-October close VEIL had fallen 80.19% from its spike-day close, to $0.003144.
Veil's website, launch post and security page give no dated reason for the jump, and neither does its Chrome Web Store listing. This page doesn't cover the project's X account, where teams often post news first. The team had reported its audit a week before the spike, and Veil's browser extension went live the day after it.
How Does Veil Work?
Every action inside Veil is a zero-knowledge proof built in your browser, and Veil's program on Solana checks each one before any funds move. That's what a zero-knowledge proof is for, confirming an action is valid without revealing whose it is.
A relayer submits each proof and pays the network fee, so your wallet signs only once, when you shield. Veil's launch post calls that first shield "the last public trace of you."
Veil charges 0.3% when you shield, swap or withdraw, and its security page says fees can only go to Veil's treasury. Private sends between Veil users pay no Veil fee, only the relayer's fee.
The team says ContractWolf audited the program in early October 2026 and scored it 95 out of 100, with every finding resolved.
The Veil Crypto Wallet Extension
Veil also ships a browser extension through the Chrome Web Store, and it went live in mid-October 2026. Veil's homepage calls it "a private wallet in your toolbar" and says Veil creates it for you. Whatever you add to that wallet moves into your private balance by itself.
Does Veil Burn Its Token?
Veil's fee treasury hadn't burned any VEIL by the mid-October close, though about 24.16 million tokens had been destroyed by mid-October 2026, or 2.416% of the 1 billion minted at launch.
The launch post sends Veil's fees to its multisig treasury, a Squads vault that also holds the program's upgrade key. It made 39 transactions from early to mid-October 2026. The 11 after VEIL's creation brought in fees and four 0.5 SOL payments. Two of them carried out a program upgrade in mid-October. None swapped into VEIL or burned it, and together they sent out under 0.001 SOL.
Fees paid in VEIL land in a separate account the treasury owns. By the mid-October close it had taken 27 deposits from the Veil program and sent nothing out, leaving it with just over 80,000 VEIL. That stash was worth about $252 at the close, or 0.0082% of supply.
Up to the mid-October close, the only burn traced to a known wallet was the deployer's own. That wallet bought about 1.088 million VEIL in mid-October and burned all of it within nine minutes, 4.50% of all burns. Wallets outside the treasury and the deployer's burned the other 23.07 million VEIL.
Each burned token is gone for good, which is what burning crypto means in practice.
Method: every transaction on the Solana chain of the treasury vault (39), its VEIL account (28, all deposits) and the deployer's wallet (131). The mint's full transfer history wasn't part of this check, so the traced share of burns is a floor.
VEIL Tokenomics
VEIL started with 1 billion tokens created through pump.fun in mid-October 2026. The same transaction removed the mint authority, so no one can ever mint more. The mint has no freeze authority either, and its name and ticker are fixed because the metadata has no update authority.
VEIL uses Solana's Token-2022 standard with metadata as its only extension, so it carries no transfer fee or transfer hook. After burns, supply stood at about 975.8 million VEIL in mid-October 2026. GeckoTerminal counted 13,917 holders in mid-October, with its ten largest at 12.02% of supply.
Veil's program is a different matter. Its upgrade key belongs to that same Squads multisig, which needs both of its two members to sign and has a time lock of zero, and the program was upgraded in early October and again in mid-October 2026.
Which VEIL Contract Is the Real One?
The real VEIL is the mint HgTGdc29D5bDMrDvsCLnorxz899VyDj7ZN7FPa6vpump, the contract Veil's homepage labels official. GeckoTerminal lists a second token named Veil (VEIL) from mid-October 2026. Veilbound and Veilify trade under the same ticker on Solana, and offshoots such as VEILBULL and VEILCAT trade beside them.
How to Buy VEIL Safely
Phemex lists VEIL in its on-chain spot market, and it has no VEIL perpetual or spot pair. Wherever you buy, run these checks first.
-
Copy VEIL's mint from Veil's homepage, which labels it the official contract, and match it character for character in your swap screen.
-
Check the pool's liquidity before you size an order, because how a liquidity pool works decides how far one trade can move the price.
-
Set a tight slippage limit so a fast-moving pool can't fill your order far from the quote.
-
Treat any contract posted in a reply or a direct message as a copy until it matches the mint on Veil's homepage.
Phemex's futures market covers other tokens, with Bitcoin and Solana among them. Futures use leverage, and a leveraged position is closed automatically if losses reach its margin.
What Are the Risks of Veil?
Two Keys and No Waiting Period
Both multisig members can upgrade Veil's program the moment they agree, because its time lock is set to zero. Nothing on chain forces a waiting period before an upgrade takes effect. The same two keys can pause the program and set its limits, though the launch post says no instruction lets anyone move a note without its owner's proof.
Fees That Stayed in the Treasury
Veil's fees reach the treasury in the tokens users move, from USDC and SOL to VEIL itself. By the mid-October close none of them had been swapped into VEIL, so the protocol's activity and the token's price ran on separate tracks.
Copycat Tokens
Copies of VEIL appeared within days of its launch, one of them with the identical name and ticker. A buyer who searches by name can end up holding a token with no tie to Veil at all.
Is Veil a Good Investment?
Buying VEIL is a bet that Veil's growth will reach a token its own fee treasury hadn't bought by the mid-October close.
What would have to be true: Veil's usage keeps growing, and value from that usage reaches VEIL in a form anyone can check on chain, such as treasury purchases or burns.
What the data shows: VEIL's whole supply was worth about $3.07 million at the mid-October close, after a spike the protocol's treasury took no part in. A single swap from that treasury into VEIL would say more about the token than another week of its chart.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Veil a crypto wallet?
Veil is a privacy layer on Solana, and its Chrome extension works as a private wallet. Veil's homepage says the extension creates that wallet for you and shields anything you add automatically.
Is Veil crypto legit?
Veil's program is live on Solana, and the team says ContractWolf audited it at 95 out of 100. VEIL's mint and freeze authorities are disabled. A 2-of-2 multisig with no time lock can still upgrade the program, and the fee treasury had bought no VEIL by the mid-October close.
Can anyone mint more of the VEIL token?
No. The transaction that created VEIL on pump.fun in mid-October 2026 also removed its mint authority, so no wallet can create more. The mint has no freeze authority either, so no one can freeze a holder's VEIL.
What is the VEIL coin price?
VEIL closed mid-October 2026 at about $0.003144 on its main trading pool. That was 80.19% below its spike-day close earlier in the month.
Who created Veil?
Veil's team calls itself former CLI and GUI team members at Monero and names no individual on its site, launch post or security page. The VEIL token itself was created through pump.fun in mid-October 2026.
Bottom Line
VEIL's 627% day came without a single purchase from the treasury that collects Veil's fees. Up to the mid-October close, the token's price and the protocol's revenue ran as separate stories, and any treasury move into VEIL will show on chain.
