The U.S. Dollar Index, which tracks the dollar against six major currencies, increased by 0.2% to close at 99.169 on May 26. In forex trading, the euro fell to $1.1629 from $1.1644, while the British pound dropped to $1.3445 from $1.3507. The dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, rising to 159.33 yen from 158.9 yen, and against the Swiss franc, climbing to 0.7857 francs from 0.7826 francs. Additionally, the dollar appreciated against the Canadian dollar and Swedish krona, reaching 1.3813 Canadian dollars and 9.3198 kronor, respectively.
