OpenAI has bought tens of thousands of Mac mini and Mac Studio units to support reinforcement learning training and workloads including computer-use agents, according to a report citing sources inside the company. Anthropic is also renting large amounts of Mac computing power through Amazon AWS. Apple’s Mac business revenue rose 29% year over year in the most recent quarter to $10.4 billion, outpacing iPhone growth and making Macs the fastest-growing segment in Apple’s hardware business.
