Hackers have reportedly used Anthropic's secure AI model, "Mythos," to breach GitHub's defenses, compromising around 4,000 internal repositories. Among the stolen data are the source code for Copilot, CodeQL algorithms, Actions runtime, and the billing system. The SlowMist security team warns that this breach could have significant security implications for the open-source community, as these systems are integral to many developers' workflows.
