Taiyuan Chengming Technology has formally demanded action from Beijing Zhipu Huazhang Technology regarding alleged unauthorized data uploads by the ZCode AI coding client. Despite Zhipu’s public apology and claim of a fix, Chengming’s independent investigation found that the software continued to automatically upload complete archived files containing full source code, database passwords, cloud credentials, and employee personal information well beyond the stated privacy policy scope.
Chengming detected upload activity even after the September 16 version 3.12.3 update and noted network requests pointing to a Singapore entity despite the service agreement being with a Beijing firm. The company has demanded that Zhipu cease all data processing, delete all uploaded content and derivatives, provide access logs, clarify cross-border transmission details, and confirm the responsible legal entity by October 10. Zhipu has not yet publicly responded to these demands.
