Bitcoin stabilized near $81,500 on Friday after dipping to approximately $81,000 late Thursday, trading within a narrow range of less than $1,000 following a week marked by $3,000 swings. The flagship cryptocurrency is down 0.4% over the past 24 hours and remains below the $82,500 support level it lost on Thursday.
Altcoin performance was mixed, with BNB gaining nearly 2% to about $745 and DOGE adding roughly 1%. Conversely, XMR fell 7% to approximately $607, erasing part of its previous day's surge, while ZEC dropped nearly 4% to around $1,200. Ether traded just under $2,400, slipping slightly alongside HYPE, XRP, and SOL.
Traditional markets showed signs of recovery, with Nasdaq 100 futures little changed after the index's worst day since June. However, rising oil prices present new macroeconomic headwinds; Brent crude reached its highest level since early May, complicating the inflation outlook ahead of the Federal Reserve's October 27–28 meeting. Treasuries reversed some of their prior haven rally, causing the 10-year yield to rise after having posted its largest decline in over a year.
