Polish cryptocurrency exchange Zonda has announced that it cannot access a cold wallet containing approximately 4,503 BTC, valued at around $334 million. CEO Przemysław Kral revealed that the private key to this wallet was not handed over by the company's founder and former CEO, Sylwester Suszek, during the transition of leadership. This revelation comes amid scrutiny over Zonda's delayed withdrawals and insolvency rumors.
The blockchain platform Recoveris has been investigating the surge in withdrawal requests and has indicated that legal action will be pursued to ensure users' withdrawal obligations are met. A Polish lawmaker has suggested that Zonda may have lost access to the wallet after Suszek went missing in 2022.
