Drone delivery company Zipline completed a new $1.5 billion funding round, reaching a post-money valuation of $21.5 billion—approximately 2.8 times its $7.6 billion valuation from January this year. The round was led by Paradigm, WCM Investment Management, and Layer Global, with participation from Valor Equity Partners, Fidelity, Uber, Tiger Global, JPMorgan, ARK Invest, and Salesforce Ventures.
The funds will support U.S.-based manufacturing and hiring efforts. Separately, Walmart signed a national multi-year agreement with Zipline that will add 300 new drone delivery sites across the country.
