South Korean AI chip startup FuriosaAI has raised $620 million in a Series D round, boosting its valuation to $2.9 billion — nearly four times its previous $735 million mark. The funding round attracted investors including Infinitum Partners, South Korea's National Growth Fund ($280 million), Jericho Capital, Worldline Capital, QUDA Capital, and NeoFort Holding, alongside existing backers Naver, Korea Development Bank, DSC Investment, Nextrans, and Kakao Investment.
Founded in 2017, FuriosaAI began mass production of its RNGD inference chip in January 2026 and is collaborating with Broadcom on a third-generation accelerator. TSMC is scheduled to manufacture 20,000 RNGD chips this year, with production expected to exceed 40,000 units by 2027.
