The new Zcash full node client, Zakura, has been officially released, developed by Project Tachyon and Valar Group. This open-source client, based on the Zcash Foundation's Zebra, supports the upcoming Ironwood (NU6.3) network upgrade, set to activate around July 28. Zakura aims to facilitate future Zcash protocol upgrades, including quantum recoverability and recursive proofs. Zakura significantly enhances synchronization speed, completing Zcash mainnet sync in approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes, compared to Zebra's 20 hours and 46 minutes. It also features native block pruning, node snapshots, and a zcashd compatibility mode, enabling seamless migration for existing infrastructure like wallets and exchanges.
