Zcash has launched Zakura 1.0.0, a new full node software designed to enhance the processing capacity of privacy transactions. The client, refactored from Zebra, supports features like pruning, snapshot synchronization, and a compatibility mode with the legacy zcashd. These improvements aim to reduce new node startup time to under two minutes. The project, led by Zcash zero-knowledge cryptography founding member Sean Bowe and Valar Group head Dev Ojha, sets the stage for Zcash to scale its transaction throughput to levels comparable to Visa and Mastercard, targeting 50,000 transactions per second.
