On-chain investigator ZachXBT has publicly questioned crypto payment platform UPay, alleging it may have provided white-label Visa crypto card services to the sanctioned illegal marketplace Xinbi. ZachXBT demanded that UPay CEO Owen Yang clarify the relationship between the two entities. Neither UPay nor Yang has issued a public response to the allegations. The inquiry follows the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control designation of Xinbi as a significant transnational criminal organization on September 9. Authorities seized more than $52 million in crypto assets from the marketplace as part of the sanctions action.
