A comprehensive analysis of the XRP Ledger has revealed that 231.6 billion XRP tokens are secure against quantum threats. The study, conducted by the XRP Ledger validator known as Veterinarian, examined 7.8 million XRP accounts to assess their vulnerability to quantum computing risks. The analysis found that 76.82 billion XRP, representing 5.6 million accounts, are at risk, with 96% of these being active accounts expected to transition to quantum-secure status soon.
The analysis highlighted that 23.16 billion XRP are fully quantum-secure, either due to key rotation or because they have never signed a transaction. Additionally, 242 multisignature wallets, holding 36.6 billion XRP, are in a secure state. Ripple has announced a four-phase plan to make the XRP Ledger quantum-resistant by 2028, underscoring its commitment to future-proofing the network against emerging technological threats.
