Wuhan's Qingshan police have successfully cracked several major cases involving cryptocurrency theft and cybersecurity breaches. In early 2024, officer Guo Tingyu led the investigation into Hubei's first virtual currency theft case. The investigation revealed that a group led by suspect Huang developed a fake cryptocurrency wallet app, which was distributed through app stores, resulting in the theft of user assets. The app was downloaded over 10,000 times, with the stolen funds exceeding 100 million yuan. All five suspects have been apprehended.
Additionally, in February 2025, the police effectively handled a ransomware attack targeting a large enterprise, tracing the attack to an overseas IP address and recovering several million yuan in losses.
