Geoffrey K. Auyeung, a 47-year-old resident of Newcastle, Washington, has pleaded guilty in a Seattle federal court to laundering nearly $97.1 million from investment fraud. Prosecutors revealed that Auyeung established nine shell companies and at least 81 bank accounts, along with 19 cryptocurrency exchange accounts, to facilitate the rapid transfer of funds abroad and into crypto wallets. The laundered funds, which included Bitcoin, USDT, USDC, and ETH, were traced to accounts in Nigeria and Russia.
