Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has commented on Flashbots' new protocol, Flashnet, emphasizing the importance of network layer anonymity. Buterin noted that this aspect has been missing in existing privacy primitives like on-chain Railgun and off-chain ZK API tickets. He stressed the need for solutions offering low latency and high anonymity sets, particularly for applications with low bandwidth requirements but high sensitivity to latency. Flashbots recently introduced Flashnet as a new anonymous broadcast protocol, claiming it offers lower latency than existing alternatives. The protocol is designed to serve as a censorship-resistant and anonymous tool for users, complementing mechanisms like FOCIL.
