Vitalik Buterin has endorsed ZKsync's Atlas upgrade, slated for a 2025 launch, which aims to significantly enhance Ethereum Layer-2 scalability. The upgrade promises near-one-second finality and over 15,000 transactions per second (TPS). Additionally, the ZK Stack framework will facilitate liquidity sharing between Ethereum Layer 1 and Layer 2, reducing fragmentation and improving cross-chain settlement.
ZKsync has restructured its token economics, transitioning the ZK token from a governance role to a value-acquisition asset through buybacks and burns. By Q4 2025, the platform has processed 12 billion transactions, indicating strong enterprise adoption. Looking ahead, ZKsync plans to further boost throughput to 30,000 TPS with the Fusaka upgrade in December 2025.
