Virtuals Protocol has launched ERC-8183, a new commercial layer for AI agents, developed in collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation's dAI team. Announced on March 10, ERC-8183 introduces the 'Job' primitive, which involves clients, providers, and evaluators, and supports four states from open to completed. This framework allows for custom logic extensions via a Hook mechanism, facilitating functions like fund transfers and reputation checks. ERC-8183 serves as the business foundation for the trust layer of ERC-8004, with each job acting as a reputation signal. Submissions are treated as deliverables that verifiers can evaluate, and each evaluation provides a proof that can be referenced by other agents, enhancing the reliability and efficiency of AI agent transactions.
