Virtuals Protocol, in collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation's dAI team, has announced the release of ERC-8183, known as Agentic Commerce. This new standard aims to provide an open, permissionless on-chain settlement framework for AI Agents. The core of ERC-8183 is the "Job" primitive, which involves three parties: Client, Provider, and Evaluator. Funds are secured through an escrow contract and are settled through a state machine with stages: Open, Funded, Submitted, and Terminal (completed, rejected, or expired). The Evaluator is responsible for on-chain confirmation or rejection of deliverables, with records available for use in reputation systems and other applications.
