Vietnamese entrepreneur Nguyen Hoa Binh, also known as Shark Binh, has been arrested for his role in a $4.5 million cryptocurrency scam involving the AntEx blockchain project. Authorities allege that Binh, along with nine accomplices, defrauded investors by selling 33 billion AntEx tokens and misappropriating the funds. Police have seized evidence and frozen assets valued at nearly $36 million.
The AntEx project, initially marketed as a 'secure financial ecosystem,' collapsed in late 2021 and was rebranded as Rabbit (RAB) in 2023, leaving investors with worthless tokens. Binh, who was once referred to as 'Vietnam’s Jack Ma,' could face life imprisonment if convicted of the charges.
