In the foreign exchange market, the euro appreciated to $1.1672 from $1.1635, while the British pound increased to $1.3466 from $1.3407. The Japanese yen strengthened to 158.14 per dollar from 157.88. Conversely, the Swiss franc weakened to 0.797 per dollar from 0.801, the Canadian dollar fell to 1.3871 per dollar from 1.391, and the Swedish krona declined to 9.1693 per dollar from 9.2025.
