The dollar strengthened against the yen, rising to 158.5 yen from 158.29 yen, and against the Swiss franc, climbing to 0.7964 francs from 0.7904 francs. Meanwhile, the dollar weakened slightly against the Canadian dollar and Swedish krona, trading at 1.3827 Canadian dollars and 9.1111 Swedish kronor, respectively.
