The United States has approved ten Chinese companies, including Alibaba, Tencent, ByteDance, and JD.com, to purchase up to 75,000 H200 chips each. Lenovo and Foxconn have been designated as distributors. Despite the approval, no shipments have occurred due to China's rejection of a U.S. mandate requiring chips to transit through the U.S. with a 25% fee, citing security concerns. In an effort to resolve the impasse, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has joined a White House delegation to China for high-level talks this week.
