The largest Bitcoin laundering case in the UK, involving 60,000 Bitcoins, is set to begin trial on September 29 at the Southwark Crown Court in London. The main defendant, Qian Zhimin, faces charges under the UK's Proceeds of Crime Act for alleged money laundering. The trial is expected to last 12 weeks. Qian Zhimin is also the principal offender in the Tianjin Lantian Gerui illegal fundraising case, which involved over 43 billion yuan. He allegedly moved funds abroad and cashed out Bitcoins in the UK through an associate, Wen Jian. The investigation was triggered by anti-money laundering checks following the purchase of luxury properties.
