Danylo Kuzmin, a 21-year-old Ukrainian national and son of Kharkiv deputy mayor Serhii Kuzmin, was killed in Vienna, with police suspecting a crypto-related motive. Authorities believe Kuzmin was beaten and coerced into revealing his cryptocurrency wallet passwords before his car was set on fire. A significant amount of cryptocurrency was reportedly transferred from his wallet.
Two Ukrainian suspects have been detained in connection with the crime. Bohdan Reinzhuk, 19, a university peer of Kuzmin and the stepson of Ukraine’s ambassador to Bulgaria, and Oleksandr Agoiev, 45, a former Ukrainian customs official, are currently in custody as investigations continue.
