The United Arab Emirates plans to transition 50% of its government operations to AI systems within two years, as announced by Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. The initiative aims to make the UAE the first government globally to operate extensively through autonomous systems. These AI agents will autonomously analyze, decide, execute, and improve government services in real time.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that AI will become the government's "executive partner," enhancing service delivery, accelerating decision-making, and boosting efficiency. All federal employees will undergo AI training, and government performance will be evaluated based on adoption speed, implementation quality, and AI proficiency. The initiative is overseen by Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed and led by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Al Gergawi.
