Ryan Goldberg and Kevin Martin have pleaded guilty to using the ALPHV BlackCat ransomware to attack multiple American victims in 2023. The two, both from the cybersecurity industry, admitted in a Florida federal court to conspiring with others and sharing proceeds with the ransomware developers. One attack resulted in a $1.2 million Bitcoin extortion. Sentencing is set for March 12, 2026, with both facing up to 20 years in prison.
