Thailand will introduce the TouristDigiPay program on August 21, 2025, to boost its tourism sector by enabling foreign tourists to exchange cryptocurrencies for Thai Baht. The initiative requires tourists to open accounts with digital asset companies and e-money providers regulated by the U.S. SEC and the Bank of Thailand. Operating within a regulatory sandbox, the program ensures compliance and prohibits direct use of digital assets for payments. Access is limited to tourists temporarily in Thailand, who must complete KYC and due diligence as per Anti-Money Laundering Office standards.
