Tether has announced a strategic partnership with African fintech platform HoneyCoin to enhance the adoption of stablecoins across the continent. HoneyCoin will launch a cashless POS platform supporting USDT payments, enabling merchants to accept stablecoin transactions directly at checkout. The integration of USDT into HoneyCoin's ecosystem aims to reduce cross-border payment costs and improve settlement efficiency.
The collaboration will initially focus on launching offline stablecoin payments in Kenya. Additionally, the partnership plans to develop QR code payment systems, real-time foreign exchange conversion, and a merchant dashboard system to facilitate seamless transactions.
