Tempo, a blockchain project developed by Stripe and Paradigm, has launched its mainnet, allowing developers to build using public RPC endpoints. The launch includes the Machine Payment Protocol (MPP), an open standard for programmatic payments between agents, supporting stablecoins and debit/credit cards. Visa and Lightspark have integrated MPP into their networks, enhancing compatibility with various payment rails. Tempo is collaborating with major partners like Mastercard, OpenAI, and Shopify to promote mainnet adoption.
