A recent survey by Bitcoin mining company GoMining reveals that more than 55% of cryptocurrency holders rarely or never spend their Bitcoin. The survey, which included 5,700 respondents, highlights limited merchant acceptance, high transaction fees, and privacy concerns as major barriers to Bitcoin payments. Despite these challenges, nearly 80% of respondents support broader adoption and believe in Bitcoin as a viable payment method.
GoMining CEO Mark Zalan emphasized the desire among users to spend cryptocurrency seamlessly and receive rewards for purchases. Meanwhile, data from Artemis indicates a significant improvement in payment infrastructure, with crypto card monthly transaction volumes increasing from $100 million at the start of 2023 to $1.5 billion by the end of 2025.
