Stacks has integrated with WalletConnect, streamlining the process for third-party wallets to connect to its network. This integration eliminates the need for wallets to implement the full Stacks Connect discovery logic, allowing any WalletConnect-enabled wallet to support Stacks address generation and transaction signing. Users will now find a 'WalletConnect' option in the Stacks Connect modal, simplifying wallet onboarding.
Previously, only a few wallets like Leather, Xverse, and Asigna offered native support for Stacks. The new integration, now live on mainnet, is expected to broaden wallet compatibility within the Stacks ecosystem, promoting wider adoption of STX stacking, sBTC, and Bitcoin Layer 2 applications.
