The Spanish Red Cross has introduced RedChain, a blockchain-based aid distribution system designed to enhance transparency for donors while safeguarding the privacy of aid recipients. Developed in collaboration with infrastructure provider BLOOCK and zero-knowledge credential company Billions Network, RedChain replaces traditional paper vouchers and prepaid cards with Ethereum-based ERC-20 aid credits. Recipients receive these credits via mobile wallets and can make payments at partner merchants using QR codes.
