Ethereum has announced its most comprehensive upgrade plan to date, featuring seven upgrades, five objectives, and a significant overhaul by 2029. The roadmap aims to enhance the network's capabilities beyond its current consensus mechanism, which, although reliable and battle-tested, was designed for an earlier era and now limits the network's potential. A key focus of the upgrades is to ensure that any privacy solutions developed are also quantum-resistant, addressing two critical challenges simultaneously. Solving these issues could remove a major barrier to widespread adoption of Ethereum's technology.
