Spain plans to invest more than €17 billion ($19.6 billion) in its national electricity transmission and distribution network by 2030 to meet rising power demand and support the energy transition, Energy Minister Sara Aagesen said.
The revised plan is about 30% higher than the government's previous proposal and roughly 144% above investment levels in the current planning period. Authorities aim to ease capacity bottlenecks, create room for renewable energy projects and reduce uncertainty around project development prospects.
