The Korea Consumer Agency's Dispute Mediation Committee has initiated a collective mediation process regarding a subsidy dispute involving Bithumb's API trading promotion. In November, Bithumb launched a campaign offering to refund all trading fees and provide a 100,000 KRW subsidy to first-time API users. However, the company later added terms excluding one-time trades made solely to claim the benefits, leading to subsidy denials for some users. The Consumer Agency detected the issue and gathered 77 affected consumers to apply for mediation in January. The committee decided on March 5 to proceed with the mediation, aiming to announce a resolution plan by March 23.
