Sony Bank disclosed that unauthorized external access was detected on October 29 in the system of Securitize Japan, its outsourced partner for digital securities operations. A log investigation confirmed that personal information belonging to 621 customers was leaked during the breach. Of the affected accounts, four individuals had their names, addresses, dates of birth, and account numbers exposed, while the remaining 617 customers only had their names compromised. Sony Bank stated it has found no improper transactions linked to the incident and no evidence that the leaked data has been published or circulated online. The breach is limited to the digital securities business, with related transactions suspended pending a separate announcement on resumption timing.
