SlowMist's Yu Xian has revealed details of the Kelp hack, where an attacker exploited LayerZero's 1/1 DVN single-signature configuration, bypassing the recommended 2/2 setup. The attacker utilized Tornado Cash to cover gas fees and successfully stole 116,500 rsETH on Ethereum. An attempt to steal an additional 40,000 rsETH was unsuccessful. The stolen rsETH has since been dispersed and laundered, creating significant bad debt pressure on staking platforms, notably Aave.
