Cybersecurity firm SlowMist has issued a warning about a new phishing threat targeting Solana wallet users, resulting in over $3 million in stolen assets. Attackers deceived users into clicking phishing links that redirected them to fraudulent websites, where they unknowingly signed transactions altering the ownership of their Solana accounts. The attack utilized a malicious 'assign' command to transfer wallet control to the perpetrators. This method mirrors previous phishing attacks on the Tron network, which caused significant financial losses. SlowMist advises using cold wallets for substantial holdings and hot wallets for daily use, while recommending transaction verification through extended simulators and caution against signing requests from unknown sources.
